Quick Sketch

Just a quick sketch done at the very end of the day, yesterday. I just draw a few loose shapes on the page and then see what I can make of it. It's a nice way to cool down after a long day of making art.

On Dasher!

This is my new holiday coffee mug illustration. I’m starting a tradition of Holiday coffee mugs. This is Dasher, an overworked reindeer in desperate need of a respite from the holiday hubbub.

Preliminary Sketch

This is a preliminary sketch for an upcoming promo mailing. I get such a kick out of composing pieces like this. It makes the hours I’ll spend painting it thoroughly entertaining.

Inktober

It was great fun participating in the #Inktober2016 Challenge! My enthusiasm for line drawing has been re-energized. I'll be doing more in the near future.

This is my dry-run for Inktober. It’s been a while since I inked in the real world, I've been inking digitally for quite a while now. This’ll be fun!

I wasn’t able to finish this piece yesterday because of more pressing deadlines. Which, of course, makes it tarrrrrdy.

My Goofy Dog Sketch

I began this sketch by blocking out the shape of a cat. But it wasn’t going anywhere till I turned it on its side, and saw the shape of this goofy dog. Well, I happen to like goofy dogs so I went with it. There's a lesson here somewhere…

The Grumpiest Boy In The World

As you can imagine, I had to channel my “inner-grump” to make this piece work, which, to my surprise, was much easier than I thought. In this story, the main character refers to his drawings as the basis for all of his adventures, like who hasn’t done that?
