Quick Sketchbook Drawing

There's definitely something to be said for working in pen and ink. Drawings sort of take on a personality of their own.

I was stuck at the airport when I started this drawing then finished it a couple of days later in my dentist’s office waiting room — Art perseveres.

Planning Stage

I'm beginning work on a series of  3 rooster paintings. I'll to do a color comp for each one even though I've got a pretty clear idea of where I want to go color wise. It's just a great way to explore all the options before putting brush to paper.

Ol' Tucker Coyote

This is a really good example of infusing paper texture into digital painting. In this case, watercolor paper. It really changes the look and feel of a painting done digitally. Gives it a more organic, or traditional watercolor look. Love it!
